Clark County Team Academy is a competency-based, alternative charter school utilizing an independent study format and a distance learning, online delivery system.

All CCTA students are required to engage in a sufficient amount of instructor contact per week (as determined by each subject area teacher) to successfully complete all course work and pass all tests and examinations to achieve competency and fulfill all the credit requirements. This mandatory contact time may be in person (one-on-one tutorial sessions, small group instruction, classroom situation, etc.); via interactive correspondence, e-mail, telephone or any combination of same.

This mandatory, weekly contact time between pupil and course instructor will allow teachers to monitor and access each students’ individual learning achievement on a weekly basis. Students identified as underachieving will be assigned remedial work and/or any additional teacher contact time needed to successfully complete required course work and examinations.

CCTA students will have the option of receiving instruction and completing course work at their place of residence (accessing CCTA’s state-approved, Classroom.Com high school curriculum on their home computer [a limited number of computers may also be leased from CCTA for home use]). Students may also access Classroom.Com classes on site-based computers located at CCTA’s main campus and at county-wide satellite locations. Licensed subject area teachers will be available for assistance from 8 am to 6 pm at the main campus. Whenever possible, teacher aides, college interns and student volunteers will be available at various satellite sites. Licensed teachers will also be on call for interactive, e-mail or telephone assistance each weekday from 8 am to 6 pm for students working at residence or satellite sites.
